BOARDMAN
In singles competition, Salem’s Ashtyn Morris (Salem) advanced to Saturday’s semifinals with a three-set win over Ursuline sophomore Vy Hoang. In the first round, Lakeview’s Laura Garvin upset third-seeded Alex Plyler of Brookfield and then won two more matches. Today, these quarterfinal matches wil complete Saturday’s draw: top-seeded Kaytlin Marlatt (Warren JFK) vs. Bryanna Legros (Liberty); fourth-seeded Lexi Tsudis (Ursuline) vs. Sophie Delatore (Poland); and Garvin vs. Lauren Pepperney (Poland).

HOWLAND
Bella Merlo, Sara Ciletti and Skylar Bryant each scored a goal for Howland (8-6). Kendyl Buckley recorded an assist for the Tigers. Boardman’s Skylar Bryant put her team’s only shot on goal in the back of the net. Julia Yauger made 12 saves for the Spartans (2-11).
Lakeview 3, Poland 0
POLAND
Rachel Braunegg scored twice and Reagan Rosenberger scored once for Lakeview (10-3). Maddy Clark and Tori Depizzo each had an assist. Miranda Meffe made two saves for the shutout win.
Canfield 2, Warren Harding 1
CANFIELD
Anita Mancini had both of Canfield’s goals to fend off upstart Warren Harding. Alana Petracci had an assist for the Cardinals(13-0). Baylee Brown scored the goal for Harding (1-7-1). Raiders’ goaltender Bella Van Kirk made 12 saves and Canfield’s Lauren Slanker made three.

NEWTON FALLS
Makenna Willyard scored a hat trick while Jordyn Bryner, Grece Wheeler and Tara Backherms each had a goal for the Tigers (8-5-1, 5-2-1 All-American Conference Blue). Michiah Butler made five saves in the shutout win. Hannah Harnicher, LeighAnn Knorzer, Sidney Drake and Bryner each had one assist.

Hannah Ward contributed two goals while Jaycee Ward, Jalen Jefferson and Ella Perrone each had a goal for Niles. Paden Cochran made 15 saves for Lakeside.

Marissa Grande had seven goals and an assist to Lily Sinopoli who had two goals in the contest. Sydney Newell and Maddie McGowan both had a goal for Hubbard.

Casey Linstrom had three goals, Lillian Kimpel had two goals and three assists, and Rachel Maynard had a goal with three assists for South Range. Bethany Jewell scored the lone goal for United.
