Which cities are the best for coffee lovers? To create this list, the personal-finance website WalletHub compared the 100 largest U.S. cities across 12 key metrics, ranging from “number of coffee shops, coffee houses and cafes per capita” to “average price of a coffee pack.” Here are the top five:

v Portland, Ore.: It has 101.71 coffee shops, coffeehouses and cafes per 100,000 residents, which leads the category, and is 33 times higher than Laredo, Texas, which has the fewest.

v Seattle: The Emerald City of the Pacific Northwest is actually neck and neck with Portland in every category.

v Minneapolis: Strong finish for the prairie capitol.

v Pittsburgh: The Steel City seems to love its coffee.

v Orlando, Fla.: The vacation hub has the most doughnut shops per 100,000 residents, 18.46, which is 18 times higher than in Anchorage, the city with the fewest, 1.00.

“Empire” (9 p.m., Fox): Mariah Carey makes a guest appearance in what promises to be a diva-licious episode of “Empire.” Mariah and Cookie sharing the same screen? We are so there.

“Frequency” (9 p.m., the CW): “Frequency” is a new drama series about a woman (Peyton List) who somehow reconnects, via an old ham radio, with the mysterious voice of her father (Riley Smith). Just one problem: Pops was an undercover cop who died when she was 8 years old.

Art sale at YMCA

BOARDMAN

The YMCA will host its fourth annual But I Know What I Like art show and sale Sunday through Nov. 20 at the Davis Family YMCA, 45 McClurg Road. More than 280 works by amateur and professional artists will be on display.

The opening reception will take place Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. in the lobby gallery. Admission is free and open to the public. For information, call 330-480-5656 or email sgray@youngstownymca.org.

The show is conducted in memory of John Patterson, a longtime member and artist who died earlier this year. Patterson painted more than 70 canvases during his time as a student in the Y’s adult painting class.

In addition to awarding one piece the John Patterson Creativity Prize, the Y, through the generosity of Patterson and Four Mile Run Church, where he was a member, is offering art scholarships to adults on the Asperger’s/autism spectrum. The first recipient is Matt Young of Canfield, who has shown creative promise since his grade school association with Austintown’s after-school program, Artworks.

‘Traficant’ film screenings added

YOUNGSTOWN

Due to strong demand, the film “Traficant: The Congressman of Crimetown” will be shown a second straight weekend at the Youngstown Playhouse, off Glenwood Avenue.

Screenings will be at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon Sunday. Valley filmmaker Eric Murphy, who made the documentary about the late congressman, will be in attendance at all screenings for a post-show question-and- answer session.

Admission is $10 at the door.

The film, which details the rise and fall of the colorful politician, can also be rented or purchased online at vimeo, iTunes and Amazon.
