TODAY

Boar’s Head Group of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will serve chicken dinners from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. The meal includes mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. The cost is $8. No reservations are necessary. Holy Family Parish, 2729 Center Road, Poland, will sell takeout-only cavatelli dinners with homemade sauce from 2:30 to 6 p.m., or until sold out. Meal also includes two meatballs, tossed salad, bread and butter and dessert for $9. A smaller portion of cavatelli and one meatball will cost $5. Pasta fagioli will be sold for $6 per quart and sauce for $5 per quart. Place your order, and remain in your car; your dinner will be delivered to you.

THURSDAY

Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, will serve homemade dinners to go. Starting at 3:30 p.m. until the drive-through runs out, baked stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans will sell for $7. Drive to the front of the church, and someone will deliver your dinners. There’s no need to preorder or get out of the car.

FRIDAY

Canfield Lions Club will have a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Meals include a choice of baked or fried fish; macaroni and cheese, haluski, pirogi or french fries; green beans or coleslaw; roll, dessert and beverage. The cost is $11.

Christ Our Savior Parish at Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. Phone orders may be made from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and beginning at 7 a.m. Friday at 330-755-1316. Orders can be picked up from noon to 2 p.m.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.75. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, 526 W. Rayen Ave., will take orders for potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. No containers are necessary. Orders should be placed from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday at the church hall. Hot lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.75 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from noon to 3 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $6.50 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.

VFW Post 9571, 11397 Ellsworth Road, Ellsworth, will host an all-you-can-eat fried fish dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The meal includes french fries, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw and applesauce. Four-piece chicken, chicken fingers or shrimp dinners also are available. Cost is $9. A chicken fingers dinner or fish dinner for seniors is $8.50, and a fish dinner for children under 10 is $5.50. The meals are offered the first and third Fridays of each month.

SATURDAY

Calvary Baptist Church, 1463 Shields Road, Youngstown, will host a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Takeouts will be available. The menu includes meatballs, salad, Italian bread, homemade desserts and beverages. The cost is $8 for adults and $3 for children.

Fowler United Methodist Church, 3426 Youngstown-Kingsville Road, will serve a chicken pie dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Menu includes potato, green beans, applesauce, coleslaw, bread, beverage and dessert. Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown, will host a free pancake, sausage and egg breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. Donations will be accepted; proceeds will be used for World Service projects.

St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, 4453 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna, will host its second Saturday supper from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Takeouts are available. The menu comprises stuffed cabbage, mashed potatoes, vegetable, bread, dessert and beverage. Adults tickets are $10, and children under 12 eat for $5.

SUNDAY

Aut Mori Grotto, 563 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, will serve a stuffed cabbage dinner from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown, will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church hall. Cost is $7.50 for adults and $5 for children. All carryouts are $7.50; containers are 75 cents, or you can provide your own. Mothers of the Crucifix will sponsor a bake sale during the dinner.

Columbiana First United Methodist Church, 210 S. Main St., will host a drive-through ham dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. The meal includes red-skin parsley potatoes, green beans, applesauce and a brownie. A $7 donation is requested.

TAKING ORDERS

First Presbyterian Church of Girard is taking orders for 15-inch pepperoni rolls for $8 each; chicken noodle, vegetable beef and spring noodle chicken soup for $5 a quart and $3 a pint; fresh-baked bread for $2 a large loaf and $1.50 a small loaf; and homemade sticky buns for $4 for four. Queen of the Holy Rosary, 291 Scoville Drive, Vienna, will host a stuffed cabbage takeout dinner from 2 to 6 p.m. Oct. 15. The menu includes mashed potatoes, green beans and applesauce for $9. One dozen stuffed cabbage will be sold for $18 or six for $9. Order by Monday by calling 330-856-4204 between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

UPCOMING

Berlin Center United Methodist Church, 15611 Akron-Canfield Road, will host a turkey supper Oct. 19. Reservation times are 4:45 p.m., 5:45 and 6:45. Carryouts will begin at 4:30 p.m. The menu includes stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, applesauce, rolls, beverage and dessert. Christ Lutheran Church, 250 Sexton St., Struthers, is hosting a stuffed pepper dinner from 2 to 6 p.m. Oct. 15 at the church. The dinner includes mashed potatoes, corn, bread, beverage and dessert. Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield Niles-Road, will host a free supper at the corner from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Oct. 20. This is a community outreach each month. Donations will be accepted to continue the program.
