AUCTIONS

Immaculate Heart of Mary Social Concerns Committee will have a quarter auction fundraiser Oct. 22 in the IHM Parish Center, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and the auction will start at 7. Tickets are $10 per person and include an auction paddle, homemade desserts, coffee, pop and water. Bid on a variety of gift baskets and gift cards for adults and kids. Take quarters, snacks and beverages and help raise money for the community charities that the committee supports. BAZAARS

Zion Lutheran Church, 10857 Main St., New Middletown, will host a bazaar and spaghetti dinner from 1 to 7 p.m. Oct. 15. It will include a basket auction, handmade items, baked goods, crafts, jewelry, white elephants, and miscellaneous. The dinner will feature homemade spaghetti sauce, meatballs, sausage, salad, bread and butter, dessert and beverages and will be served from 4:30 to 7. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for ages 7 to 12, ages 6 and under eat for free. Take outs will be available. For information call the church office at 330-542-3821.

BINGO/CARD PARTIES

St. Patrick Altar Guild will host a bingo/card party and salad buffet from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at St. Patrick Social Hall, 1420 Oak Hill, Youngstown. Tickets are $5 per person at the door. There is a handicap accessible ramp and elevator on the south side of the church and a secured parking lot.

BOOK SALES

Friends of the Community Library of Shenango Valley will host its used book sale Wednesday through Saturday in the library basement, 11 N. Sharpsville Ave., Sharon, Pa. The sale includes books, magazines, puzzles and audiovisual material. All of the proceeds are donated to the library. Hours for the sale are 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Stop any additional donations until Nov. 1. Hubbard Friends of the Library mega book sale runs Wednesday through Saturday at the Hubbard Public Library, 436 W. Liberty St. Hours are 9 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Friday, and 9 to 2:45 p.m. Saturday, $2 a bag day. Prices will be from 25 cents to $1. New Wilmington Kiwanis’; annual book sale will take place Friday and Saturday at Jameson-New Wilmington Health Center, South Market Street, in conjunction with the Westminster College Homecoming Weekend. The sale hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Hardbacks will be sold for $1 each and paperbacks, 50 cents each. A specialty books section will be sorted and displayed by categories.

CRAFT SHOWS

New Covenant Worship Center, 1900 Canfield Road, Youngstown, will sponsor a craft show from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Falcon Animal Rescue will have cats and kittens available for adoption at the event. Shepherd of the Valley, 7148 West Blvd., Boardman, will have its annual craft show in the dining room from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday hosted by its staff. Vendors are being sought. All proceeds will go to the Boardman activity department for special events for the residents.

FESTIVALS

Canfield United Methodist Church, 27 S. Broad St., is sponsoring its 76th annual Bazaar and Fall Festival from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 21 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 22. Admission is free. Items available include trash and treasure, books, CDs, DVDs, clothing, housewares, furniture, toys, handcrafted gifts, decorations, baked goods, coleslaw, peanut brittle and a silent auction. Proceeds will benefit Operation Blessing, Canfield Care Net, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the church pre-school and other community needs.

FUNDRAISERS

First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave., will host a Feast of Salads, fashion show and basket auction Oct. 22. The doors will open at 10 a.m. Donations of auction items are welcomed. The proceeds will benefit Protestant Family Services. If necessary, call PFS at 330-746-4600 to pick up donations.

RAFFLES

Rockview Christian Church, 925 Mahoning Ave., is sponsoring a basket raffle Oct. 16. Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the drawing will be at 3. There will be more than 100 prizes, 50-50 raffles and refreshments will be available.

SALES

Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., will have a trash and treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, bargain bag day. Lunch, pastries and beverages will be available.

Bristolville United Methodist Church, Routes 46 and 88, will host a craft show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tables rent for $15, call Linda at 330-889-9717. A trunk sale will be available in the township park. Spaces are $15 each, call Chuck at 330-889-9537. Spaces remaining on the day of sale will be $20 each. All proceeds will benefit the church. It is handicap accessible.

Canfield Republican Women’s Club is sponsoring a Red, White and Blue Elephant rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Youngstown Shrine Club Pavilion, 1735 W. South Range Road, North Lima. All proceeds benefit the YSU ROTC Scholarship program, AMVETS, the War VET Museum and the Canfield Laundromat Library project.

First United Methodist Church, 237 W. Silver St., Sharon, Pa., will host a rummage and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. New Springfield Church of God, 3649 E. Garfield Road, will have a three-day rummage sale from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Lunch will be available Thursday and Friday; items will be half-price Friday; and Saturday will be $1-a-bag day.

Pythian Sisters will host a rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, bag day, at Knights of Pythians Hall, 123 College St., West Farmington, Pa. Books, clothing and household items will be available. Lunch will be served Friday only.

Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1025 N. Belle Vista, Youngstown, will host a rummage sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The kitchen will be open for sandwiches and beverages.

Trinity Fellowship Church, 4749 South Ave., Boardman, will have a rummage sale and food fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

TRIPS

Alchemy Acres Animal Sanctuary in Salem is sponsoring a bus trip to New York City on Oct. 29 for a shopping trip as a fundraiser. Participants will be dropped off at Macy’s early the next morning and return late that evening. The cost is $100 per seat. All proceeds benefit the pets at Alchemy Acres.
