Good Morning, Canfield event set

The Good Morning, Canfield event will take place from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Oct. 14 at the Canfield Library, 43 W Main St.

Canfield city and township speakers include Canfield Mayor Bernie Kosar Sr., Canfield Township Trustee Brian Governor and Schools Superintendent Alex Geordan.

Pick up tips about interviewing, hiring at chamber event

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a “Human Resources Hot Topics: Best Practices for Interviewing and Hiring” event from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Oct. 13 at the Residence Inn, 5555 Youngstown-Warren Road.

The event will focus on how to avoid common pitfalls employers encounter during the process of finding and bringing in new talent, and look at strategies to minimize risk and liability.

ODNR schedules meeting to discuss mine land projects

SALEM

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources will have an open house meeting to discuss abandoned mine land projects in Columbiana, Portage and Mahoning counties from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 17.

The meeting will take place at the ODNR Mineral Research Management building, 3601 Newgarden Road.

At the meeting, staff from the ODNR Division of Mineral Resources Management will be available to discuss environmental and public health and safety issues associated with Ohio’s abandoned mines.

Cafe, galleria have a grand opening

SHARON, PA.

The Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce recently announced the grand opening of Michael Anthony’s Caf and Galleria D’Arte, 89 E. State St.

The arts and cultural concept encompasses performance space, art gallery, bookstore, cafe, meeting space and theater opportunities.

Michael A. Forney, a Youngstown native and entrepreneur, is the owner of the cafe and galleria.

Future plans include more well-known musical acts, a film festival, “Paint & Tastes,” and book signings with best-selling authors.
