The Hubbard Conservation Club, 1760 Wick-Campbell Road, will host a youth and beginner archery clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday and Oct. 23.

Shooting program
Niles
The Western Reserve Fish & Game Association, 1058 W. Third St., will have an eight-week shooting and safety program with small bore and air rifles.
Sessions are scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
The program is for boys and girls age 10 to 18. Topics include firearm safety, maintenance and marksmanship with position shooting. Participants will spend four sessions learning about the use of standard-target .22-caliber rifles and four sessions with high-accuracy sophisticated air rifles. Range time and live fire are part of the program. In addition, there will be discussions about basic Ohio wildlife rules.
WRFGA will provide all equipment and ammunition. There is a $10 fee per session to cover the cost of materials. A parent or legal guardian must accompany the participant for the first session. Participants who are interested may be invited to join WRFGA’s coed Jr. CMP team, the Eagles, which competes at local, state and national events.

PPC shoot

Fingerling fish sale

The Mahoning Soil & Water Conservation District, 850 Industrial Road, is having a fall fingerling fish sale. Fish can be picked up from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 11 at Canfield Fairgrounds.
Largemouth bass, channel catfish, crappies, hybrid bluegill and shell crackers are 85 cents each; bluegill and yellow perch are 80 cents each; fathead minnows are $7 for 100; white amur are $15 each; Japanese koi are $13 each.

Hunting lottery

Local hunters have an opportunity to assist in reducing the squirrel and raccoon populations at Mosquito Lake State Park during open squirrel and raccoon season this year. Four participants (two for each hunt) will be drawn Oct. 17.
Interested participants must mail a postcard with their name, address and phone number to Mosquito Lake State Park, 1439 state Route 305, Cortland, OH 44410. All entries must be postmarked by Oct. 12.
