A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

Nov. 24

Drugs: A traffic stop near Struthers Road resulted in a minor-misdemeanor citation charging the driver, no information in the report, with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Eleven grams of suspected marijuana, a device commonly used to grind marijuana and a glass tube with a white residue were found, the report showed.

Nov. 25

Assault: A Poland man reported having been assaulted while in the 7900 block of Struthers Road and was injured.

BOARDMAN

Nov. 24

Trespassing: Officers arrested Alphonso V. Davis, 42, of Cook Avenue, Boardman, on a criminal-trespassing charge after alleging Davis had violated conditions of his bond related to a domestic-violence situation by returning to a nearby apartment.

Theft: Sharon Shives, 50, of Rose Street, Youngstown, along with a 16-year-old Poland boy, was charged with stealing $295 worth of miscellaneous jewelry and Christmas ornaments from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Domestic violence: Lindsay A. Castrucci of South Avenue, Boardman, was charged with the crime after her boyfriend alleged the 34-year-old Castrucci had punched his head and face, pulled the accuser’s hair and ripped a shirt off him during a heated argument.

Drugs: Police responded to a report of possible drug activity in the 900 block of Mathews Road, where they charged 29-year-old Robert W. Sivigny with possession of a drug-abuse instrument. The San Clemente, Calif., man admitted having used heroin, then discarding a syringe in a trash can, a report showed.

Theft: Jequelle J. Parker, 18, of West LaClede Avenue, Youngstown, was charged in the theft of three TV streaming devices from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Auto theft: A 1999 Toyota Camry was stolen in the 6100 block of Market Street.

Theft: Angela M. Housteau, 50, of Forest Ridge Drive, Boardman, was charged, accused of taking two hair clips from Kohl’s.

Vandalism: The owner of Washing Well Laundry, 978 Mathews Road, reported two men kicked and shook a coin machine, then used a screwdriver and a sink post in an effort to pry open the machine. Damage was estimated at $2,000.

Auto theft: After having responded to a report of a stolen car in the 6100 block of Market Street, authorities charged a 17-year-old Youngstown boy with auto theft, resisting arrest and obstructing official business. The teen also fled on foot as police attempted a traffic stop, they alleged.

Arrest: Officers responded to a report of someone slumped in a car near U.S. Route 224 before charging Georgeann Cornicelli of Market Street, Boardman, with operating a vehicle impaired and with two drug-possession charges. Cornicelli, 55, had suspected heroin and a container with over-the-counter pills, police alleged.

Nov. 25

Breaking and entering: Someone entered a garage in the 50 block of Ferncliff Avenue before removing several gift cards and a tool set from a vehicle.

Theft: Asia R. Mason, 18, of South Heights Avenue, Youngstown, was charged in the theft of $54 worth of merchandise, including a women’s shirt, from Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road.

Domestic violence: Troutman C. Hibbard, 78, of Ewing Road, Boardman, faced a charge after his wife alleged Hibbard had struck her left leg with a walking cane, causing the accuser to fall, during an argument about a clogged drain.

Theft: Authorities booked Lisa A. Altman of Jaguar Drive, Boardman, on a theft charge. The 44-year-old Altman was accused of stealing three DVDs valued at $111 Nov. 6 from Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road.

Criminal mischief: A Green Bay Drive man saw that eggs had been tossed at his truck.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 6600 block of Paxton Road had been hit with eggs and was found with three dents and other damage that came to $900.

Nov. 26

Theft: Two men reportedly stole $510 worth of clothing from Kohl’s.

Theft: Three women reportedly took a $19.50 package of diapers and six candles from Dollar General, 5953 South Ave.

Arrest: A vehicle check in the 5100 block of Market Street resulted in the arrest of 36-year-old Ali S.H. Bakkar of Cooper Street, Youngstown, who was wanted on an assault warrant from that city.

Domestic violence: A Boardman girl, 15, was charged after her mother alleged the teen had pushed her, causing the accuser to fall to the floor and strike her head on a door, during a fight pertaining to household rules.

Theft: Two women and a male reportedly stole three USB phone chargers, a $10 pair of pants and a shirt from Gabriel Bros.

Harassment: A township woman said she received a series of unwanted Facebook and Instagram requests.

Theft: A man reportedly stole four hooded sweatshirts and two pairs of jogging pants from Macy’s in Southern Park Mall.

Breaking and entering: A Melbourne Avenue woman told police someone had entered her garage, and that a $600 women’s mountain bike was missing.

Burglary: To a residence in the 300 block of Mathews Road via the front door. Stolen were a 42-inch flat-screen TV, a Sony PlayStation 4 game system and four or five PlayStation games.

Theft: A man reportedly took a Pittsburgh Steelers towel and a bottle of wine from Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive.

Nov. 27

Theft: Two women and three men were reportedly seen on surveillance footage stealing $1,005 worth of merchandise that included clothing and groceries from Walmart.

Theft: A Darlington, Pa., woman noticed her $500 iPhone missing while at a business in the 800 block of Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft/criminal damaging: Someone broke a car’s driver’s-side window in the 6700 block of Colleen Drive, then took a purse and other small items.

Theft: A $1,500 laptop computer, an iPad device, a black bag and $5 were stolen from a vehicle in the 5800 block of Rosewood Drive.

Harassment: A Boardman-Canfield Road man said a former co-worker had made several threatening statements to him.

Theft: Someone in the 1200 block of Barbie Drive removed $20 from a car.

Theft: Roughly $7 in change was taken from a vehicle in the 1200 block of Windel Way.

Theft/drugs: Randy E. Woods, 27, was charged after a $40 Xbox controller was stolen from Best Buy. Woods, of Florence Drive, North Lima, also faced a fifth-degree felony drug-abuse charge when, authorities alleged, a folded bindle of suspected heroin was found in a wallet.

Nov. 28

Attempted burglary: A man told police he came face to face with the silhouette of someone trying to enter his Annawan Lane residence at night. The would-be burglar removed a rear storm window, a report said.

Theft: A man reportedly stole two Nintendo games from Walmart.

Theft: A Salem man noticed his $700 iPhone and its case missing while in the 7400 block of South Avenue.

Drugs: Police in the 400 block of Indianola Road pulled over a man on a bicycle before charging 35-year-old James J. Malie III of Shields Road, Boardman, with felony drug abuse as well as one misdemeanor count each of obstructing official business and resisting arrest. Malie led authorities on a foot chase; also, a cigarette pack containing a folded piece of paper with a brown powdery substance that tested positive for heroin was found, a report stated.

Theft: A woman discovered $50, a credit card and other small items missing from her vehicle in the 700 block of Cheriwood Court.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 6100 block of Market Street, possibly through an unlocked window. Two TVs and a Sony PlayStation game were missing.

Misuse of a credit card: A Cook Avenue woman found out her stolen card had been used to make unauthorized charges from her bank account.

Theft: A man reportedly stole 17 articles of clothing valued at $765 from Kohl’s.

Theft: A man in the 700 block of Cheriwood Court reported his wallet and $300 missing from his vehicle.

Criminal damaging: Someone tampered with and damaged a coin machine at an East Midlothian Boulevard car wash.

Theft: A Boardman-Canfield Road man learned that his stolen debit card had been used without permission to make two transactions that totaled $410.

Nov. 29

Domestic violence: Authorities answered a call regarding a wanted person in the 8500 block of South Avenue, where they took into custody Justin A. Ramsey of Meadowbrook Avenue, Boardman, who faced a felony domestic-violence charge. His pregnant girlfriend alleged that during an argument, Ramsey, 21, had grabbed her by the face and punched the accuser’s right temple, causing her to momentarily black out.
