FOOD SALES AND DINNERS


THURSDAY

Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, will serve baked stuffed chicken breast dinners to go from 3:30 p.m. until the drive-through runs out. The cost is $7, and meals include mashed potatoes and green beans. Drive to the front of the church, and someone will deliver your dinners to you. There’s no need to preorder or get out of the car.

VFW Col. Louis J. Campbell Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and coffee. The cost is $7.50 for adults and $4 for children 7 and under. Carryout orders are $8 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will host a drive-through chicken dinner from 4 p.m. until sold out. The meal costs $8 each and includes mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and a brownie.

FRIDAY

Christ Our Savior Parish at Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. Phone orders may be made from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and beginning at 7 a.m. Friday at 330-755-1316. Orders can be picked up from noon to 2 p.m.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.75. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, 526 W. Rayen Ave., will take orders for potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. No containers are necessary. Orders should be placed from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday at the church hall. Hot lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $7 for a baker’s dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome. Use the side entrance.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.75 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from noon to 3 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $6.50 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.

SUNDAY

Immaculate Heart of Mary Knights of Columbus 3930 is sponsoring a pancake and sausage breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the parish center, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown. The menu includes beverages. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.

Pacentrano Club, 2629 Craiger Ave., Youngstown, will serve spaghetti dinners from noon to 4 p.m. every Sunday during football season. The dinners are $8 each for takeout or sit-down. For information or to place takeout orders, call 330-788-3393.

St. Brendan Church, 2800 Oakwood Ave., Youngstown, will host a drive-through stuffed chicken breast dinner from noon until sold out. The menu includes mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie for $9. No need to get out of your car; just drive to the back of the school off North Schenley and make a left turn to the first set of kitchen doors. Your dinners will be delivered to you.

St. Patrick Church, 1410 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown, continues its schedule of Sauce and Song with a spaghetti dinner and afternoon concert. The dinner includes salad, bread, dessert and beverage for $8 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. Carryouts are available, and containers will be provided. Dinners will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the concert will be at 1:30. It will feature the Chaney Vocal Performing Arts group under the direction of Tracy Vivo. VFW Post 2799 will serve a homestyle breakfast sponsored by the ladies auxiliary from 8 a.m. to noon. Cost is $6 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12. The menu consists of eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes or freedom toast, toast and coffee or tea.

TAKING ORDERS

First Presbyterian Church of Girard, 890 Church Hill Road, will be selling chicken noodle, stuffed pepper, spring noodle chicken and stuffed cabbage soups for $5 per quart and $3 per pint; homemade pepperoni rolls for $8 for large and $2.50 for a single; fresh-baked bread for $2 for a large loaf and $1.50 for a small loaf; and homemade sticky buns for four for $2.50. Orders can be placed by calling 330-759-1460. Final deadline to order is Dec. 7, and pickup will be Dec. 10 between 3 and 4:30 p.m. at the church.

Simon Road Church of God, 4750 Simon Road, Boardman, is selling nut, prune, apricot and poppyseed kolachi for Christmas. The cost is $9 each, and orders are due by Dec. 12. Holy Family Parish, 2729 Center Road, Poland, will sell takeout-only cavatelli dinners with homemade sauce from 2:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out Dec. 7 Meal also includes two meatballs, tossed salad, bread and butter, and dessert for $9. A smaller portion of cavatelli and one meatball will cost $5. Pasta fagioli will be sold for $6 a quart and sauce for $5 a quart. Place your order, remain in your car, and your dinner will be delivered to you.

St. John Greek Orthodox Church, 4955 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, will be the location of a cookie walk from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 10. Greek pastries and a variety of Christmas cookies will be for sale by the dozen or in assorted cookie platters. The event is sponsored by the St. John Philoptochos Society.
