Northeastern 73, Kent State 70

BOSTON

Devon Begley’s 3-pointer gave Northeastern (4-2)the lead with two minutes left and his two free throws with 25 seconds left iced the Huskies’ come-from-behind win over Kent State. Kent State led 42-25 at intermission, but the Huskies rallied and cut the deficit to three points with 12 minutes left in the game. Begley led Northeastern with 18 points. T.J. Williams finished with 17 points and dished out five assists. Jimmy Hall was 11 of 14 from the field and finished with 25 points to lead Kent State (4-3).

Duquesne 78, Cleveland State 71

PITTSBURGH

Mike Lewis II scored 20 points while Darius Lewis and Josh Steel each scored 13 and Duquesne held off Cleveland State to conclude the Bluegrass Showcase. Eric James made a pair of free throws to put Duquesne up 61-43 with 9:40 to go before Cleveland State (1-4) scored 18 straight to tie it, but Duquesne (2-4) outscored the Vikings 17-10 in the final five minutes to preserve the win. Kasheem Thomas led CSU (1-4) with 16 points and six assists and Rob Edwards had 15 points and eight boards.

UNCW 102, Toledo 77

NASHVILLE, TENN.

Davontae Cacok scored 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting with seven rebounds and UNC-Wilmington ran away from Toledo at the Challenge in Music City. Chris Flemmings and C.J. Bryce had 14 points apiece and Denzel Ingram added 12 points and nine assists. UNCW (5-1) shot nearly 57 percent overall. The Seahawks generated 24 points off turnovers and had 16 fast-break points. Toledo (3-4) was led by Jonathan Williams with 16 points and eight rebounds. Steve Taylor Jr. and Taylor Adway scored 13 points apiece.

Valparaiso 79, Ball State 73

VALPARAISO, IND.

Alec Peters had 23 points, going 11 of 12 from the line, and grabbed eight rebounds to help Valparaiso beat Ball State. Valpo (6-1) trailed by three at intermission, but used an eight-point spurt midway through the second half to go up 51-44. Shane Hammink scored 16 points for the Crusaders. Lexus Williams finished with 14 points, five boards and six steals, while Walker ended with 11. Ball State (3-3) was led by Francis Kiapway and former Youngstown State player Ryan Weber with 15 points apiece.

No. 3 Indiana 85, Mississippi Valley State 52

BLOOMINGTON, IND.

OG Anunoby had 21 points and eight rebounds, Robert Johnson added 14 points and Indiana routed Mississippi Valley State. Thomas Bryant had 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Hoosiers (4-1). Rashaan Surles led the Delta Devils (0-8) with 14 points.

No. 11 Gonzaga 73, No. 21 Iowa State 71

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLA.

Nigel Williams-Goss scored 18 points and Gonzaga nearly blew an 18-point second-half lead against Iowa State in the AdvoCare Invitational championship game. Josh Perkins added 12 points, and Przemek Karnowki had 11 for Gonzaga (6-0). Deonte Burton scored 21 of his 29 in the second half for Iowa State (5-1).

No. 15 St. Mary’s 76, UAB 63

LAS VEGAS

Jock Landale scored 20 points to lead St. Mary’s past UAB. Landale was 9 of 11 from the field for St. Mary’s (5-0). The Gaels outscored UAB (3-3) 30-16 during a 14-minute stretch in the first half to open their largest lead of the game, 40-23. Chris Cokley had 20 points for the Blazers.

No. 16 Wisconsin 95, Prairie View A&M 50

MADISON, WIS.

Nigel Hayes scored a season-high 17 points to lead Wisconsin. Hayes was 5 of 5 from the field and 7 of 8 from the free-throw line. Bronson Koenig and Zak Showalter each scored 11 points for the Badgers (5-2). Zachary Hamilton led the Panthers (2-5) with 15 points.
