YOUNGSTOWN

Police arrested three men in separate incidents over the holiday after responding to family disputes.

William Kerensky, 31, of North Evanston Avenue, was arrested about 1:55 a.m. Friday after he returned to his home after reports said he threatened people there with a knife earlier in the day.

As Kerensky was led to a cruiser, he threatened to shoot a family member in the head and said he would return even if he has a restraining order, reports said.

When he was arraigned later in the day via video hookup in municipal court, Kerensky initially refused to get in front of the camera. He then told Magistrate Anthony Sertick that he was mad because a family member who lives with him was selling heroin, and that he is trying to stay off heroin.

When Kerensky was led away after his arraignment, he could be heard swearing at the family member and threatening her.

Magistrate Sertick set bond for Kerensky at $7,500 on a felony charge of domestic violence.

About 2:50 a.m. Chaz Davis, 35, was arrested at his home in the 500 block of Cameron Avenue after reports said he grabbed his girlfriend, dragged her out of a car and threw her off a porch. Officers went inside to look for Davis, and he was found hiding in a bedroom.

Reports said as Davis was being led out of the house, he used a racial slur against an officer.

Magistrate Sertick set bond for Davis at $7,500 on a charge of misdemeanor assault and obstructing official business.

About 8:20 p.m. Thursday, police arrested Daniel Torres, 28, on charges of domestic violence, resisting arrest and criminal damaging after they were called to a home on Linwood Avenue for a report of a fight.

Reports said it was the second time that day police had been called there. They were also there about 5 p.m. for a report of Torres being drunk, reports said.

Reports said Torres’ wife said he threw her out of a screen door and out of the house. When officers tried to take him into custody, he refused commands and had to be taken to the ground.

When he was escorted to a cruiser, he kicked the door so hard he bent it, reports said. At the Mahoning County jail, reports said he refused to get out of the cruiser and he had to be taken out by corrections officers.

His bond was set at $8,500.
