Hitchcock Woods Early Learning Center recently introduced its new toddler classroom, called “Tiny Two’s,” for students who are 16 months to 2-years-old.
Pattie Welsh, owner of Hitchcock Woods Early Learning Center, has had a goal of expanding the younger toddler room for more than three years. She knows the quality of education is important at a young age and continues to strive for achievement.
“After seeing the success of the older toddler room, ages 2-2 1/2, I am very excited to create and develop a program for the Tiny Two’s,” said Welsh.
The students who are placed in the “Tiny Two’s” room will work on social emotion and language and listening skills. They have their own playground to play on. The special outside area allows the students to ride tricycles and participate in other outdoor activities with their teacher Shannon Gutierrez.
The students currently enjoy going for walks in the bye-bye buggy and finger painting different pictures. There are several sensory items placed in the classroom for students to touch and look at to help them explore their five senses. Hands-on activities are created for the students to engage with.
The “Tiny Two’s” room will allow the students to have an easier transition to the older toddler room from the infant room. The room has a friendly-monster theme that keeps the classroom fun and colorful.
Welsh and the faculty at Hitchcock Woods Early Learning Center hope to keep creating new ideas for making the center a better place for their students.
