New, enhanced outpatient services

NEW CASTLE, Pa.

UPMC Jameson and UPMC Horizon are introducing new and enhanced outpatient services for patients with behavioral health care needs in Lawrence and Mercer counties. The expansion of community-based outpatient services will create additional access to care that addresses individual patient needs and improves outcomes.

Because the new, evidence-based care models will significantly lessen demand for hospital-based behavioral health services, the inpatient behavioral health unit will be discontinued at UPMC Jameson.

Expanded outpatient services for UPMC Jameson and UPMC Horizon are being modeled after proven and effective outpatient treatment programs pioneered at the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC.

Kia Sportage recall

DETROIT

Kia is telling owners of nearly 72,000 older SUVs in the U.S. to park them outside because an electrical short in a computer can cause engine fires.

The automaker is making the statement as it recalls Sportage models from the 2008 and 2009 model years.

Kia will notify customers about the recall, which will begin Monday. Letters sent to owners will tell them to “park your vehicle outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until you have the recall repair performed,” spokesman James Hope said in a statement.
