If you’re planning a family trip during the holidays, “Jurassic World: The Exhibition” at the Franklin Institute In Philadelphia will dazzle.

v When: The exhibition, based on one of the biggest blockbusters in cinema history, opens Friday and continues through April 23, 2017. Hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

v Attractions: Visitors will travel to Isla Nublar to see a towering Brachiosaurus, come face-to-face with a Velociraptor and get a close look at the most vicious dinosaur, Tyrannosaurus rex. The lifelike animatronic dinosaurs were designed by The Creature Technology Company (Walking with Dinosaurs).

v Other features: Visitors will experience the family-friendly Gentle Giants Petting Zoo, step behind the glass into The Hammond Creation Lab, and get a preview of Jurassic World’s top-secret project, the Indominus rex.

v Interactive: Created in collaboration with paleontologist Jack Horner, the exhibition is infused with interactive educational elements from the real science of dinosaur DNA.

v Tickets: Individual and group tickets are available for purchase at www.fi.edu. Evening admission is $14.95 for children (age 3-11) and $19.95 for adults (5-8 p.m.). Daytime admission is $29.95 for children (age 3-11) and $34.95 for adults (9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.), which includes general museum admission.

“This Is Us” (9 p.m., NBC): The sentimental new drama delivers a Thanksgiving-themed episode. We don’t know whether to celebrate – or stock up on extra tissues.

Karaoke for a Cure planned Friday

Team ‘Re (in memory of Marie Holder) presents the first Karaoke for a Cure from 9 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. at Ice House Inn, 5516 W. Webb Road, to benefit A Way With Words Foundation Inc. and ROCcK Children’s Choir.

DJ Rock Doctor Rink is donating his time to provide entertainment. Austintown Fitch High School Concert Choir Alumni (1978) who did a version of Abbott and Costello’s “Who’s on First” have been challenged to perform it.

There also will be a “Double Dog Dare You Karaoke.” There will be baskets and auction items including a gift voucher to Mountaineer Grand Hotel, a fire pit from Compco Industries and memorabilia of Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns and NASCAR.

Get into holiday musical spirit

The College of Creative Arts & Communication at Youngstown State University will present “Music at Noon: A Barbershop Christmas” at 12:15 p.m. Nov. 30 in Butler North of the Butler Institute of American Art, Wick Avenue. “A Keyboard Christmas Extravaganza Concert” is planned at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5 in Bliss Recital Hall at YSU.
