Yale beats Harvard for first time in a decade

cambridge, mass.

Kurt Rawlings threw for two touchdowns and ran for 74 yards to lead Yale to a 21-14 victory over Harvard in the 133rd edition of The Game on Saturday, snapping a nine-year losing streak and depriving the Crimson of a fourth straight Ivy League title.

The Bulldogs (3-7, 3-4 Ivy) had little to play for except a chance to spoil Harvard’s season, and that’s exactly what they did.

After opening the second half with an onside kick and scoring to take its first lead, Yale went ahead for good with 4:14 left on a 3-yard touchdown pass from Rawlings to Reed Klubnik.

The Crimson (7-3, 5-2) had two possessions in the final minutes to try to tie it, but couldn’t.
