BBB schedules its annual meeting

The Better Business Bureau serving Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties will have its annual meeting of accredited businesses at 9 a.m. Nov. 30 at the Covelli Centre.

Accredited businesses are invited to learn about BBB’s network of businesses.

There is no charge for the event or parking. Parking is available in the Sweeney Chevrolet main parking lot. Attendees will be given a chance to win door prizes.

Startup Seminar is planned at YSU

YOUNGSTOWN

The Small Business Development Center at Youngstown State University will have a Startup Seminar on Tuesday.

Registration for the event begins at 5 p.m. The seminar takes place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Williamson College of Business Administration, 21 N. Hazel St., in Room No. 1155.

This seminar is aimed to help any entrepreneur who is interested in learning what it takes to get a business started and is a requirement for SBDC clients. The guest speaker is Christine Dailey.

Registration is $10, and the deadline to apply is 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Parking can be found at meters around the building or in a campus parking deck for $5.

Seminar targets free trade agreements

The Northeast Ohio Trade and Economic Consortium will have a “Free Trade Agreements, NAFTA and Brexit Update: Benefits, Facts and Impact on Your Business” seminar Dec. 6 at the Embassy Suites, 5800 Rockside Woods Blvd.

The event will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m.

This seminar will clear up any confusion and show the benefits of trade agreements for U.S. exporters. It will focus on current and proposed free trade agreements including: the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership; the Trans-Pacific Partnership; NAFTA; and other recently implemented FTAs.

It also will cover an update on Brexit and its impact on TTIP negotiations and the European Union.
