Woman charged with soliciting

NORTH LIMA

A woman is charged with soliciting, accused of offering to perform a sex act on an undercover Beaver Township police officer for $50 and some nachos.

Charged is Crystal Hotlosz, 36, of St. Clairsville. The arrest earlier this week was the result of a prostitution investigation police initiated after seeing a notice posted on a Youngstown classified advertising website, according to a police report.

After meeting with Hotlosz in the parking lot of the Market Street Los Gallos restaurant Monday, the officer discussed pricing with her. “She asked if I had any extra money and her nachos,” the officer stated in the report.

A man who drove her to the meeting, Mark Robbins, 41, of Youngstown, was arrested for promoting prostitution.

Ex-police chief to appeal termination

CAMPEBLL

Former Campbell Police Chief Drew Rauzan has filed a letter stating his intent to appeal his termination.

Mayor Nick Phillips fired Rauzan on Nov. 7 after the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation found Rauzan made sexual advances toward a woman while acting in an official capacity, according to the mayor. The BCI has not released materials from the investigation. A hearing before the Campbell Civil Service Commission is tentatively set for Rauzan on Dec. 15.

Law Director Brian Macala has requested that the Ohio attorney general’s office review the investigation of Rauzan and consider appointing a special prosecutor.
