CLUBS

Mercer County Amateur Radio Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Butler Community College (BC3), Conference Room 121, Linden Point, Hermitage, Pa. The annual Christmas party will take place at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 20 at Avalon at Buhl Park.

Youngstown Chapter of International Torch Clubs’; dinner-discussion meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Monday at Kilcawley Center in Bresnahan Room I and II at Youngstown State University. Flora Pamer, club member, will discuss “The Legion Wants You: The French Foreign Legion.” The public is invited to attend. Social hour starts at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6 and lecture at 7. LIBRARY FRIENDS

Friends of the Austintown Library will meet at 10 a.m. Nov. 28 at the Austintown Library, 600 S. Raccoon Road. Vice Admiral John LaPlante will discuss military culture, and the group will honor military veterans. All meetings are open to the public.

Friends of Poland Library will meet Dec. 6 at the Poland Library, 311 S. Main St. Coffee hour will begin at 9:30 a.m., and the program and business meeting will follow at 10. Lea Mollman will present “Greystone (the Arms Museum), through the years.” Hostesses will be June Deeley, Mary Jane Pavelko and Ann Trefethern. Donations of books, magazines, CDs, and DVDs are accepted at each meeting for the Poland Friends book cart. The meeting is open to the public. New members are welcome. Membership dues are $10 per year.

POLITICAL CLUBS

Canfield Republican Women’s Club dinner meeting and Christmas party are scheduled for 6 p.m. Dec. 7 at A La Cart Catering in Canfield for a celebration of the past two years. There will be a picture presentation and music. A short meeting will include the installation of new officers. Husbands and friends are welcome to attend. If you would like, take an alcoholic beverage to accompany the buffet dinner; cost is $15 per person. Take a new blanket, any size, for the Rescue Mission. SOCIETIES

Audubon Society, Mahoning Valley, invites the public to learn about winter birds at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Canfield Library. Jeff Harvey, president of the society, will discuss which birds come to Ohio for the winter and which of our resident birds remain.

Mahoning County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will have its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Charles Church Ministry Building, 7325 Westview Drive, Boardman. Judge Robert N. Rusu will present “Saving the Court Records.” All are welcome; the building is handicap accessible.
