Nowitzki’s status uncertain

Dirk Nowitzki and Deron Williams both went through a brief practice Tuesday but it’s uncertain whether either will return from injury today against the Celtics.

Both have missed four games, Nowitzki with a sore right Achilles, Williams with a strained left hamstring.

Nowitzki thought he would have a good chance to play on this trip, but was ruled out of the New York game Monday after a vigorous pregame workout.
