No. 16 John Carroll 31, No. 1 Mount Union 28

No. 1 ranked Mount Union could not overcome four turnovers in a loss to No. 16 ranked John Carroll in an Ohio Athletic Conference game. John Carroll (9-1, 9-0 OAC) claims its fourth OAC title and first since 1994 along with the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs. It was first regular-season loss for the Purple Raiders (9-1, 8-1 OAC) since 2005 and first time they have not at least shared the conference title since 1991. Mount Union will wait until tonight at 6 p.m. to see if it gets one of six national at-large bids to the NCAA Playoffs. The lead changed hands four times and three of those came in the final five minutes. John Carroll sophomore quarterback Anthony Moeglin hit William Woods with a 24-yd touchdown pass with 39 seconds to play that turned out to be the game winner. John Carroll scored twice in the first quarter but missed the extra point to lead 13-0. Mount Union freshman quarterback Dom Davis had a 25-yard touchdown run on fourth down with 38 seconds left in the first half to make it 13-7 at halftime.
Westminster 24, Geneva 0
BEAVER FALLS, PA.
Westminster won at Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Geneva College in its regular-season finale. The Titans improved to 7-3 overall and 5-3 in the PAC, while the Golden Tornadoes dropped to 3-7 overall and 2-6 in the conference. Westminster out-gained Geneva 366 yards (141 rushing, 225 passing) to 189 (160 rushing, 29 passing). Geneva’s 29 passing yards were the fewest the Titans have given up all season. Titan junior Paul Columbo (Boca Raton, FL / West Boca Raton Community) went 17 of 26 for a game-high 164 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. Columbo added a team-high 74 rushing yards on 14 carries. Westminster sophomore Bryson Paulinellie (DuBois, PA / Dubois Area) had five receptions and 80 yards, both game-highs, to go along with a score. Senior Justin Dahl made a field goal and is tied with Jon McCartney (2000) all-time in school history for most made field goals in a season with 11. The Titan defense caused five turnovers (four fumbles and an interception), while converting two of the fumbles into touchdowns. Geneva’s first time in Westminster’s territory occurred with 9:30 to play in the third quarter.
Miami (Ohio) 35, Buffalo 24
BUFFALO, N.Y.
Gus Ragland threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score, De’Andre Montgomery returned an interception and a fumble for scores and Miami (5-6, 5-2 Mid-American) beat Buffalo (2-8, 1-5) to win its fifth straight.
Notre Dame 44, Army 6
SAN ANTONIO
DeShone Kizer threw for three touchdowns, C.J. Sanders returned the opening kickoff for a score, and Notre Dame (4-6)beat Army (5-5). Kizer was 17 for 28 for 209 yards with an interception and had 72 yards on seven carries. The junior was replaced by Malik Zaire for the fourth quarter.
West Alabama 56, Malone 7
LIVINGSTON, ALA.
Austin Grammer was 22 of 28 for four TDs and ran for another as West Alabama rolled over Malone. Donta Armstrong caught 12 passes for 104 yards and two TDs for West Alabama (7-4). Malone (3-8) turned the ball over three times, twice on fumbles. Damon Williams ran for 52 yards on nine carries for Malone and Matt Blasiole had 48 yards on 21 attempts, including a 1-yard run for the Pioneers only TD.
Hiram 36, Oberlin 14
HIRAM
Joshua Philander caught four TD passes and broke the Terriors’ single-season record for receiving TDs in a season-ending win over the winless Yeomen (0-10, 0-9 North Coast Athletic Conference). Philander caught TD passes of 13, 12, 6 and 5 yards from for Hiram (3-7, 3-6). Terriors QB Randy Tucker was 26 of 44 for 294 yards and five TDs. Philander finished with 12 catches for 136 yards.
Thiel 47, Grove City 41
GROVE CITY, PA.
Ryan Radke passed for four TDs — including a 46-yard game-winner to DeShawon Bracy with 3:09 to play — as the Tomcats beat the Wolverines to keep the Mercer County Cup. Bracy caught eight passes for 218 yards and three TDs. Radke was 17 of 26 for 317 ands and ran for 149 yards and two scores on 22 carries. Thiel (4-6, 3-5 Presidents’ Athletic Conference) led 34-7 late in the second quarter, but Grove City (0-10, 0-8) tied the game at 34 with 4:15 to play when Brett Laffoon threw a 24-yard TD pass to Brett Pinson.
