Youngstown police arrest man who tried to swallow crack after traffic stop
YOUNGSTOWN — Police said they arrested a Regent Street man Wednesday afternoon who tried to swallow a rock of crack cocaine after a traffic stop.
Police said officers pulled over a car driven by Deometric Brown, 54, about 3:40 p.m. at Delason and Oak Hill avenues on the South Side for an improper turn.
Reports said when officers were talking to Brown it appeared he had something in his mouth. He told police it was a rock of crack cocaine. He then spit it out, reports said.
Brown was charged with possession of cocaine and driving under suspension and taken to the Mahoning County jail.
