Woman found guilty on animal cruelty charges

CAMPBELL — A Youngstown woman on trial on animal cruelty charges Monday in municipal court was found guilty after pleading no contest.

Tameka Smith, 25, was issued a fine and ordered to perform 250 hours of community service with Angels For Animals.

Police charged Smith in January 2015 after they reported finding a dead, frozen dog chained outside a Reed Avenue home without access to food or water.
