BBB warns against free seminar

YOUNGSTOWN

The Better Business Bureau of the Mahoning Valley advises consumers in the area to use caution when responding to a mailed invitation to a free seminar titled “Flipping Ohio.”

The invitations tout the seminar as an exclusive event. The local seminar is Wednesday, promoted under the name Success Path, and carries the endorsements of HGTV celebrities Tarek and Christina El Moussa. Success Path has a BBB Grade of a D with the Better Business Bureau of Salt Lake City and has had 163 complaints filed in the past three years.

Groundbreaking

YOUNGSTOWN

A ground breaking ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Monday at 130 N. Lane Ave. for the Joseph Beverage Complex.

It is the intention of the Joseph Company International Inc. of Irvine, Calif., to build a beverage complex and technology center in Youngstown that will produce the world’s first and only self-chilling beverage can.

Mitchell Joseph, CEO of the company, is the fourth generation of the Joseph family to be involved in the beverage industry in the U.S. and will build the beverage complex and technology center on the lower East Side at the very same location his great-grandfather founded and operated Star Bottling Co. from 1921 to 1970.

Plans call for building four large production buildings and an East Coast Administrative headquarters. Production buildings will be completed by late summer 2017 and will be in full operation by 2018.

New shop planned

BOARDMAN

The Shops at Boardman Park may have a new tenant soon, according to Krista Beniston, director of Boardman Zoning and Development Department. Beniston said plans were received this week for the Casual Pint, a craft beer market store, to be set up at the location in the near future.

The store awaits permission to sell liquor in Boardman Township Precinct 1, an issue on the ballot this month. Handel Investments LLC, the real estate investment company that owns The Shops at Boardman Park, declined to disclose any details until after Election Day. The Causal Pint has franchise stores has stores across the country, and two locations in Southern Ohio.

New office space

HOWLAND

Kutlick Realty LLC leased new office space to Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates Ltd., the Mahoning Valley’s largest orthopaedic surgery practice group. In addition to physician services, the office at Harvard Commons, 1695 Niles-Cortland Road NE in Warren, will include physical therapy, casting, bracing and imaging services.

Ribbon-cutting

EAST LIVERPOOL

The New Castle School of Trades East Liverpool campus will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. Nov. 11. An open house will follow at 2 p.m. The campus is located at 129 E. 5th St.
