Paw Platoon hosted a Fall Fun fundraising event and bake sale at the Boardman Pet Supplies Plus on Oct. 1.

Pets showed up for the Fall Fun event to get treats and pictures taken in the photo booth, provided by Me and You and a Photo Booth Too. A table was set up with props and different costumes the animals could wear for their pictures.

There was a table with baked goods and two new hoodies debuted from the Paw Platoon, available for people to buy to help raise money. All of the money earned goes back to Paw Platoon to help with rescues and veterinary assistance.

“The biggest thing with us is that we are a veteran operated rescue,” said Paul Poulos, the president of Paw Platoon and Boardman police officer.

Paw Platoon is a foster-based Dog Rescue organization. They are a 501(c)(3)non-profit organization consisting of all volunteers. Paw Platoon showcases the spirit of the solder by dedicating available resources to local humane societies and dog pounds, along with other non-profit organizations with similar goals.

Several people showed up to the Fall Fun event to get their pictures taken with their pets, buy baked goods and the new hoodies. Families also brought the dogs in they were fostering through Paw Platoon in the chance of finding them a forever home.

“We have a good animal rescue community here and for the most part we work together,” said Poulos.
