ASSOCIATIONS

NARFE Chapter 14 will have its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, Austintown. Light refreshments will be served. All active and retired federal employees are invited to attend. For information call 330-953-0077.

Tri-Gold Prime Time Chapter of ABWA will have its monthly meeting Wednesday at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. A social at 5:30 p.m. will be followed by dinner at 6. The menu consists of turkey, dressing and gravy, stuffed pork chops, mashed or sweet potatoes, salad, roll and an assortment of pies for dessert; cost is $19. The program will be presented by Marlene Mikan of Yellow Brick Place, which provides support and education to cancer patients and their families in the tri-county area. Guests are welcome. CLASSES

Campbell Memorial January and June Classes of 1948 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Denny’s Restaurant in Boardman. All classmates and spouses are welcome.

CLUBS

Mahoning Valley Stamp Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at Highway Tabernacle, 3000 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown. The club meets the second Thursday of each month.

Western Reserve Amateur Radio Club (www.wrarc.net) will have its monthly meeting Nov. 15 at Davidson’s Restaurant, 3636 Canfield Road, Cornersburg. Dinner is at 6 p.m., and the meeting will be at 7. Bridgette Langley from Mercy Health will be the speaker. The WRARC provides ongoing amateur radio licensing classes and examinations. In addition, members also provide voluntary communication services at various local charitable community fund-raising events throughout the year and emergency communications in times of natural and man-made disasters. COUNCILS

Youngstown Section of the National Council of Negro Women Inc. will have its monthly meeting Nov. 12 at McGuffey Center, 1649 Jacobs Road. The executive board meets at noon, and the general meeting starts at 1 p.m.

GROUPS

Junior Group of Goodwill will have its regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Goodwill cafeteria, 2747 Belmont Ave., Youngstown. Kathy Gerberry will preside. A plant tour is scheduled at 2 p.m. A Christmas party for Goodwill clients will be discussed, and plans will be made for the 2017 Goodwill Gala scheduled March 3. Transcendental Interest Group will have its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Ohio Living Park Vista North Lounge, 1310 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. Hosted by Dr. Agnes Martinko, a film that recently aired on PBS and is a portrayal of the best and worst of America’s treatment of its newcomers at Ellis Island will be viewed. Poland Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Nov.15 at the Little Red Schoolhouse, 4515 Center Road. “Following the Fowlers from Connecticut to Poland to Canfield” will be the topic of the program at 7:30 p.m. by society members Dave Smith, Larry Baughman and Ted Heineman.

Salem Historical Society will meet Tuesday in the meeting room of the Dale Shaffer Research Library, 239 S. Lundy Lane, for a Veteran’s Day presentation by Col. Brian M. Kennedy, USMC retired, of Salem. His topic, “Leadership in the 21st Century — What’s Changed?,” will follow a short business meeting.
