Local veteran honored at annual Veterans program

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9571 life-member Tom Check was one of the veterans honored recently at the Columbiana Veterans and 9/11 observance ceremony. He received a quilted wall-hanging made by local resident Sandie Campbell in recognition of his service. Check served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam, Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. He has received a number of military commendations and medals.
