Author presentation on famed shipwreck
Staff report
WARREN
Rochelle Pennington will give a presentation on the most storied Great Lakes shipwreck when she comes to Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. NW, at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 16. Tickets are $35 and are available at the box office. Pennington’s appearance is part of the Trumbull Town Hall speaker series.
An award-winning newspaper columnist and author of 10 books, Pennington is the co-author of “The Historic Christmas Tree Ship,” which sunk in 1912. At her lecture, she will display artifacts raised from the sunken ship along with underwater photos of it.
Her presentation also will include original photographs and focus on little-known facts: clues washed ashore in the decades following the ship’s mysterious disappearance, ghost ship sightings and omens believed to have fixed its fate before it set sail.
