Sheriff arrests man suspected in 16 burglaries

YOUNGSTOWN — Detectives say a man arrested last week for trying to break into an Austintown bar is responsible for at least 16 burglaries or attempted burglaries.

At a news conference today at the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Jerry Green said that Robert Goad, 52, is a suspect in burglaries in Goshen, Austintown, Beaver, Springfield, Canfield and Columbiana County.

Goad is presently in the Mahoning County jail since his arrest Thursday.
