MetroParks selection committee to meet tonight

The selection committee charged with narrowing the field of candidates for two vacant seats on the Mill Creek MetroParks board will meet at 6 p.m. tonight.

The committee is expected to forward its recommendations to Mahoning County Probate Judge Robert N. Rusu Jr. (the appointing authority for the MetroParks board) after tonight’s meeting.

Although the judge originally asked the committee to send its recommendations by last Friday, he extended that deadline to this week. His office on Wednesday will release additional information on the status of the selection process, he told The Vindicator on Friday.

The meeting is closed to the public.
