Krish Mohip to lead city schools as first CEO


YOUNGSTOWN – A Chicago Public Schools administrator will be the first chief executive officer of the Youngstown City Schools.

The school district’s academic distress commission voted this morning 5-0 to hire Krish Mohip for the post.

More than 30 people applied for the position and the commission selected six to interview.

From there, they narrowed the choice to two finalists: Mohip and Tyrone Olverson, superintendent of Finneytown Schools, near Cincinnati.

Mohip has been the principal of a struggling school in the Chicago School system since March. Before that. he served as chief officer-strategic school support services and deputy chief of schools in Chicago.
