Gym at former St. Edward School damaged by vandals

YOUNGSTOWN — Reports said the gymnasium at the former St. Edward School was damaged by vandals over the weekend.

Police were called about 3:05 p.m. Monday to Heart Reach Ministries, 211 Redondo Road, where they were met by firefighters who were also called there for an alarm.

Reports said the entire floor of the gymnasium was covered with foam from fire extinguishers as well as several adjoining hallways. A refrigerator was also broken into and food taken, reports said.

There did not appear to be any forced entry into the building, reports said.
