Autism Walk fundraiser is Saturday

The Autism Society of Mahoning Valley will host the third annual Valley Autism 5K and first Family Fun Walk on Saturday at Austintown Township Park, 600 Kirk Road.

Registration starts at 7:30 a.m., and the first event starts at 8:45.

The event will include a 5K run, a new 5K timed walk, a kid’s fun run and a 1-mile family fun walk.

The 5K event is part of Vertical Runner’s Trail Mix series, which features a combination of trails and roads to create a unique running experience.

Prizes will be awarded to the top runners in each age category, as well as for top fundraising teams.

There will be a DJ, bounce houses, petting zoo, pony rides, Marco’s pizza station, special appearance from Chuck E. Cheese, Gymsters parachute, autism craft vendors and more.

Event sponsors include John Kufleitner’s Salem & Columbiana Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge-Ram, Compco Industries, Phantom Fireworks, Integrated Metal Products, Austintown Bounce, Shannan Jursa – State Farm Insurance, Ohio Naturopathic Wellness Center, “Joe” Dickey Electric Inc., Knoll Run Golf Course and Melissa Mullane Padgett, DDS.
