DeBartolo Scholarship dinner set at Covelli

Players and coaches from the San Francisco 49ers will be in attendance when the Edward J. DeBartolo Memorial Scholarship Foundation presents its annual dinner on June 13 at the Covelli Centre.

California vinters MiSueno, Spottswoode and BV will supply beverages while food will be prepared by Leo’s Ristorante, Vernon’s Cafe and Jeff Chrystal Catering.

Live and silent auctions will be offered. Proceeds will benefit the Scholarship Foundation. For tickets, call 330-965-2000.

Earlier this month, Denise DeBartolo York, representing the Scholarship Foundation, awarded 12 scholarships totalling $108,000. More than 400 applications were received.

The Foundation has awarded more than $750,000 over the past 19 years.

“My Father believed that all students who have demonstrated intensity and desire, regardless of their financial situation, should be afforded the opportunity to receive a college education,” York said. “The goals of the foundation are to continue the reward those students who have proven themselves as role models and leaders in the communuity.”Receiving awards were: Emily Bluedorn, Boardman; Tristen Brink, Sebring; Alexandra Eisenhart, Beaver Local; Charles Latronico Jr., Hubbard; MiKayla List, Maplewood; Haley Mink, Howland; Maggie Monahan, Cardinal Mooney; Julie Phillis, West Branch; Courtney Sanlo, United; Sierra Schneggenburger, Liberty; Ashley Stasik, Boardman; and Alyssa Sterle, Lordstown.
