Fitness, health activities set Saturday at Buhl Park

HERMITAGE, PA.

Buhl Park, 715 Hazen Road, is hosting a day filled with sports, fitness and health activities from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

The event includes a Dash to the Splash 5K run/2-mile walk and a free kids fun run that will end with an optional jump in the water.

Spectators can check out the Buhl Grand Prix, USA Cycling-sanctioned racing hosted by La Prima Espresso Co. Racing will begin at 10 a.m. and continue to 4:15 p.m., with a free kids’ bike race at 1:15 p.m.

The schedule is filled with demonstrations ranging from dance to yoga with food and other vendors available.

Penn Ohio Rehabilitation, which helped sponsor the event and assisted with the planning, will have activities at its tent as well as on stage.

Participants can check out the PiYo workout class, squat clinic or go for the Lunch Time-Crunch Time fitness trail walk.

Buhl Community Recreation Center also will showcase all that they have to offer from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center.

Children can try out two obstacle courses, hosted by the Hermitage Kiwanis and Fitness & Physique, or they can try Yoga for Kids with Jackie Stewart.

Team Danielle is hosting health-and-wellness activities for kids at the Butterfly Memorial Garden/Little Free Library, including crafts, story time with Miss Vicki, and health-care provider presentations.
