MAY

Monday — 26th annual Memorial Mile will begin at 9:35 a.m. at U.S.224 and state Route 7 in Boardman. Entry fee is $10 in advance and $13 on race day. Runners in 14 age groups will compete for gift certificates and awards. Call 330-757-7424 for more information.

Monday — Freedom Run 5K and Mile Walk in Edinburg. Both begin at 8 a.m. Net proceeds benefit Kent Freedom House for Veterans. Registration is $20 in advance and on race day. Monday — Mosquito Lake Chase 5K to benefit the Maplewood Running Rockets will take place at 9 a.m. at Maplewood High School in Mecca. This year’s race is a tribute to the late Oscar Grant, the long-time Maplewood teacher, coach and track official. Advance registration at www.gopherarun.com is $17. JUNE

9 — Immaculate Heart of Mary Festival 5K. Start time is 7 p.m. This is one of the oldest running events in the area. All participants must be registered. Online registration at Runsignup.com/Race/OH/Austintown/Ihmfestival5K. A very short quarter-mile kids run takes place just before the 5K. Runners can register beginning at 5 p.m. on race day. Registration fee is $10 if you do not want a shirt.

17 — Second Sole’s Third annual Midnight Mile race begins at midnight at Second Sole on U.S. 224 in Boardman. Pre-race festivities and registration begin at 8 p.m. Early registration is available online at www.secondsoleohio.com or by mail-in form. Cost is $15 through June 15. After that, the price is $20. 18 — Fourth annual Trumbull County FOP No. 137 Run with the Deputies. A 5K run, one-mile walk and a kids race will take place at Courthouse Square in downtown Warren at 9 a.m. Cost is $15 for the run and $10 for the walk. Kids race is free. Awards to the top four men and women, top four police, fire, veterans and current military members and TCSO, and the top three in each age group. 4 — Canfield’s 41st annual Firecracker Four-mile run and half-mile children’s run begins at the Village Green.
