PIKETON
Death certificates have been filed that indicate seven of the eight slain relatives from a southern Ohio family were shot only in the head, most of them repeatedly.
The Columbus Dispatch reports the death certificates signed by Pike County Coroner Dr. David Kessler say that 40-year-old Christopher Rhoden Sr. was the only one of eight who was shot somewhere other than the head.
His death certificate says he died of “multiple gunshot wounds to the head, torso and extremity.”
Rhoden was among seven adults and a 16-year-old boy from the same family who were found dead at four properties near Piketon in April. There have been no arrests, and no suspects have been named.
An official cause and manner of death is still listed as pending on each certificate.
