Redeemer Lutheran Church welcomes new pastor


Redeemer Lutheran Church in Austintown installed its new pastor, Rev. David Schinbeckler, at a special Installation Service on May 7.

Ohio District President of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS), Rev. Terry Cripe, will deliver the message. Rev. Ralph Hough and Rev. John Eiwen will lead the liturgy. Pastors from other local area LCMS will be assisting with the service.

Schinbeckler comes to Redeemer from Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sandusky, Mich., where he served for nearly two years. Prior to that, he served Peace Lutheran Church near Fayetteville, Ark.

He received his undergraduate education at Indiana-Purdue University of Fort Wayne, Ind. and graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary (Fort Wayne) in 2013. Before being ordained, he served the church as a long time children’s Sunday school teacher and adult Bible study instructor. He specializes in stewardship ministry and is a certified instructor for Crown Financial Ministries. He also served as congregational president and Chairman of the Board for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne for several years before transferring to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, also in Fort Wayne. At Emmanuel, he served on various boards and committees and led adult Bible studies.

He has been blessed to have a variety of vocational experiences over the course of his life, including musician, electrician, banking, sales and entrepreneur. He also served in the United States Army for six years. Before entering seminary, he was President of American Laminating Co. of Indiana, a paper finishing company owned by he and his wife, Coleen. He served in that position for 18 years before selling the business in 2011 in order to attend seminary full time.

He has been married to Coleen for 40 years and they have two sons, Aaron David and Drew Adam. Both sons live in San Antonio, Texas.
