Fast facts: Canadian James Hinchcliffe will start from the pole for the 100th Indy 500, a year after nearly dying in a crash during practice. ... Six drivers in the field have won the Indy 500, including Helio Castroneves (2001, 2002, 2009), Montoya, Tony Kanaan (2013) and Ryan Hunter-Reay (2014). ...The race was declared a sellout and will be broadcast on television live in central Indiana for the first time since the early 1950s.
