YOUNGSTOWN

Out-Spokin’ Wheelmen, a Youngstown area recreational cycling club, recently donated a dozen bicycles for boys and girls to Youngstown United Way.

The bicycles will go to children who complete and follow certain guidelines in the United Way’s Success After Six program.

The bicycles were bought from Frankford Bicycles in Girard, where they were assembled for the cycling club. The Wheelmen is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has promoted bicycling in the Mahoning Valley for more than 43 years.

Club activities include publishing and distributing cycling safety pamphlets available at area bicycle shops, and the organization and staffing of invitational rides in the spring and fall that raise money for the club’s community projects.

The club has previously donated bikes to the Rich Center for Autism and domestic violence shelters in the tri-county area.

The club meets the second Wednesday of each month of Rachel’s Restaurant, 54 Westchester Drive, Austintown. For information about membership or club activities, visit www.outspokinwheelmen.com.
