Liberty police investigating weekend robberies

LIBERTY — Police are investigating weekend robberies at a business and home.

Police arrived about 4 a.m. Sunday at Belmont Wireless, 3103 Belmont Ave., to find a ransacked cash drawer and disheveled cabinets. Various cellphones, a laptop and a semiautomatic 9-millimeter handgun were reported stolen. The business' glass door appeared to have been shattered by a large block of concrete. Police found a cellphone, still in its box, in an alley near the business. They are reviewing surveillance footage.

In a separate incident, a woman reported Saturday she returned to her Ventura Drive home to find a screen door had been cut and a laptop computer stolen.
