Hubbard woman faces drug charges after weekend arrest in Liberty

LIBERTY

A woman was arraigned today on charges of driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of dangerous drugs after police arrested her Saturday. Police arrested Erin Grey, 39, of Hubbard after her boyfriend called police from Motel 6 on Belmont Avenue to say Grey had taken his car, which contained his wallet and cellphone, and left her 8-year-old daughter sleeping in a motel bed.

Shortly after, police called Grey via her boyfriend’s cell phone and were advised she would drive back to the hotel, a report states. Officers said Grey was unsteady on her feet when she arrived, had bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol.

Officers recovered a pill and a suspected crack pipe from her purse. Grey said she had been smoking crack and was transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital; family members took custody of Grey’s daughter.

Grey will appear June 29 in Girard Municipal Court for a pretrial hearing.
