2 killed in head-on, wrong-way motorcycle crash near Columbus

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say two people were killed when a motorcycle they were on was driving the wrong way and collided head-on with a car about 35 miles southwest of Columbus.

It happened Monday afternoon on U.S. Route 22 in Washington Court House.

Fayette County authorities say 65-year-old James Fetters and 69-year-old Linda Fetters, both of Somerville, were thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene.

Sixty-nine-year-old Walter Matson of Washington Court House had been driving the car. He was airlifted to an Ohio State University hospital. The Columbus Dispatch reports Matson is in critical condition.

U.S. Route 22 remains closed as authorities investigate.
