Mercer County dog-license canvassing starts in June

MERCER, PA.

Canvassing for current dog license and rabies vaccinations by the Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement in Mercer County is scheduled during June, said the county treasurer’s office.

Dog wardens randomly conduct compliance checks in neighborhoods to ensure all dogs are licensed.

All dogs 3 months of age or older are required to have a current dog license as of Jan. 1 of each year. A dog without a license can result in a fine for the owner up to $300 plus court costs.
