YOUNGSTOWN

The American Heart Association will host its 2016 Annual Golf Classic Scramble on June 6 at Youngstown Country Club, 1402 Country Club Drive. Participants will golf for prizes while also raising awareness and funds to improve cardiovascular and brain health through research, education and advocacy programs.

The 18-hole scramble will have a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Cost of $250 per person or $1,000 for a team of four will provide for an 11:30 a.m. lunch, golf carts, refreshments on the course and an awards reception following play.

Team and individual prizes will be offered. A cash prize of $25,000 for the first hole-in-one will be provided by event chairmen, Dr. Michael Burley and Joe Valvo. Other first hole-in-one prizes include a 2016 Cadillac CTS provided by Cole Valley Cadillac and a $10,000 shopping spree provided by Adamas Jewelry and Gifts. There will also be closest-to-the-pin prizes provided by Tele-Gold Jewelers of Boardman, and other monetary prizes will be awarded to teams and individuals throughout the event.
