Allios to mark golden event at June 4 dinner

The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Allio of Salem will be celebrated with a private dinner party on June 4 at the Springfield Grille in Boardman.

The former Judi Pelliccioni wed Mr. Allio in a June 4, 1966, ceremony at Real Life Church.

The Allios are parents of Cristina (Louis) Huffman of Columbiana.

Mrs. Allio worked as a legal secretary, librarian and clerk of council for the city of Salem. She is a trustee and past vice president of Salem Historical Society and was a chairwoman for Salem’s annual Founders’ Day celebrations. She is a former secretary and president of the board of trustees of Salem Community Theatre, and produced many shows over a 30-year period. She was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.

Mr. Allio is a four-year U.S. Navy veteran, and served on a submarine rescue ship.

He is a former broadcast engineer, and was chief engineer for radio stations WSOM and WQXK Salem-Youngstown, WTOF Canton and WHLO Akron.
