Local drivers reach Summit qualifier

At left, Canfield’s Phil Smida, competes in the third round of the Super Comp at the 2016 NHRA Spring Spectacle of Speed event. Smida lost in the Super Comp race, but qualified in the Super Street semifinals. Friday evening, racing was suspended because of rain. Racing is expected to resume today as soon as weather permits.
