Warren man cut in chest, police investigating

WARREN — A city man, 55, suffered a severe cut of his chest while talking to a man about a debt at the corner of Belvedere Avenue and Crosby Street Southeast at 9 p.m. Thursday.

The man said he was a passenger in a car. His nephew pulled over at the intersection so the victim could speak with a man known as “Wizard” about money “Wizard” owed. According to a police report, “Wizard” came around to the victim’s side of the car and pulled out a double-edged knife and stabbed him in the right side of his chest.

The victim grabbed for the knife and also cut his hand, he said. The driver left and took the victim to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital for treatment.
