Boys track named AAC Runners-Up
The Boardman boys track team finished as AAC Runners-Up for the 2016 season following the championship meet on May 10 at Austintown Fitch High School.
Senior Brendon Lucas placed first in the 100, 200 and 400, setting a league meet record in the 400 at 49.23 which is .03 off from the Boardman High School record by Dayne Hammond.
Seniors Nick Cessna and Jacob Rauschenberg placed fifth and eighth in the 110 hurdles and was third and seventh in the 300 hurdles. Junior Kobe Adu-Poku was fourth in the 400, junior Chris Butler was fourth in the 800 and senior Tyler Kellam placed fifth in the 800, as well.
Butler was second in the 1600 with senior Nathan Hadley in sixth place. Junior Nick Digiacomo placed fourth in the 3200 and classmate Nathaniel Ams was sixth.
The 4x800 relay team of Hadley, Adu-Poku, Ams and Butler placed second, the 4x200 relay of freshman Manny Perez, senior Cannon Carlile, sophomore Ethan Himes and Cessna placed fifth, and the 4x100 relay of
Perez, Himes, Carlile and freshman Nick Torres placed fourth.
Junior George Wallace placed fifth in the discus and was also fifth in the shot put. Senior Jason Jama finished second overall in shot. Sophomore Justice Jama placed third in the high jump and sixth in the long jump with Torres placing seventh in long jump as well.
Junior Richard Fisher placed fourth in the pole vault and sixth in the high jump, and junior Don Lewis placed sixth in pole vault.
