21 post victories to advance to KO Drugs Boxing finals

Twenty-one boxers posted victories on Wednesday in the 29th annual K.O. Drugs High School Boxing Tournament at the Old School Marketplace in North Lima.

Roraggio Ford of Alliance got the action started when he scored a unanimous decision over Calvin Davis of Sharon.

Bryce Jones of Girard scored the first TKO of the night when he dropped Tequane Bennett midway through the second round in a lightweight pairing while Nate Cordova then followed with a third-round KO of Poland’s Robert Murray.

In the other junior welterweight match-up, LaBrae’s Noah Spay scored a unanimous decision over Jared Finley of South Range,

In a welterweight scrap it was Indian Creek’s Brock Eakle stopping Ryan Housteau of Canfield, also by unanimous decision.

Braydon Scott of Campbell Memorial scored a unanimous decision over Paul Smith of Greenville, also in welterweight action.

The two junior welterweight pairings found Clinton Ewing of Howland defeating Lakeview’s Maxim McLeod, and Luigi Rohrbaugh of Ursuline stopping Austintown Fitch’s Dominic Burich, both by unanimous decision.

In middleweight match-ups, Salem’s David Syoc defeated Sharon’s Fausto Abinosa and Luke Bender of Brookfield defeated Mitchell Sharp of West Branch, both by unanimous decision.

At super middleweight, Lakeview’s Kyle Boyle scored a split decision over Robert Dolwick of Girard while Isaiah Jackson of Austintown Fitch registered a unanimous decision over Greenville’s Canyon Eels.

The first light heavyweight bout, Bradin Bender of Sharon stopped Caden Barone of Mathews by TKO (round-one) with Boardman’s Evan Collins following with a unanimous decision over David Swope of Brookfield.

Andrew O’Nesti of Boardman scored a unanimous decision over Travis Metz of Mathews in the first of two cruiserweight pairings while Crestiew’s Dakota Stratton followed with a unanimous decision over Will Price of Keystone.

The first of two heavyweight pairings found Justin McCann of Indian Creek scoring a unanimous decision over Terrell Neely (home school), followed by Struthers’ Roger Shaffer, who scored a unanimous decision over Greenville’s Sean Perseghetti.

Closing the show were super heavyweights Coaltin Barcey of Leetonia, who scored a split decision over Chavion Young of Alliance and Daniel Sinclair of Crestview, who registered a second-round TKO over Steve Fitzgerald of Mineral Ridge.
