Commercial Metal Forming’s parent company files bankruptcy

YOUNGSTOWN — The company that owns Commercial Metal Forming on Logan Avenue in Youngstown recently filed voluntary petitions for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The bankruptcy is not expected to impact business at Commercial.

Constellation Enterprises LLC said in a press release the bankruptcy filing is to restructure its debt obligations.

Constellation is the parent company of Commercial, Jorgensen Forge Corp. of Washington, Columbus Castings in Columbus and Zero Manufacturing of Utah.

The weakness in oil and gas and industrial manufacturing sectors and “significant operational issues at Columbus” put added stress on the company.

Commercial, Jorgensen and Zero will continue to operate, uninterrupted, with no change in employment, in the normal ordinary course, according to the press release.

Columbus Castings production will be temporarily halted.
