Joseph Craig recognized for service

BERLIN CENTER

Joseph Craig was presented with a special mission recognition plaque and mission pin April 10 as part of the United Methodist Women’s Sunday celebration at Berlin Center United Methodist Church.

For many years he has helped with women’s dinners and fundraising events, and he repairs almost anything that needs attention at the church.

His wife, Donna, and their family, Renee Marshburn and Brian and Marci Craig and four of five grandchildren, attended.

Chamber presents $25 gift certificate

COLUMBIANA

Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce presented a $25 gift certificate for Bo’s Pet Shop to Margaret McBane for the March contest, “Shopping Local Pays.” This is a monthly incentive to shop at retail stores in Columbiana.

Customers may make one entry for each $100 spent in the 44408 ZIP code area, excluding groceries and gas. Receipts must be received at the chamber office by the seventh of the following month to be eligible for the gift certificate.

Canfield Lions welcome speakers

CANFIELD

Canfield Lions met twice in April and welcomed two speakers.

On April 7, Maggie McClendon, associate director for diversity admission at Youngstown State University, presented information about senior citizens taking classes at YSU at a reduced cost.

Audrey Walker from the Sojourner House, a domestic violence shelter in Mahoning County, shared the Sojourner mission on April 21. Its 24-hour hotline is 866-436-4259. There is no charge for help.

Canfield Lions meet the first and third Thursdays of each month at A La Cart Catering in Canfield.
